1810 Pickering House - History
Built by the Pickering family circa 1810, this federal style home is charming and historic. It sits on two lovely acres in a quiet residential neighborhood in pastoral Greenland, New Hampshire. The property was originally part of a larger colonial land grant.
The home has served as a residence to several owners and has been added to over the years. The property was purchased by Steve McKenzie and Julia Phelps, and after completing necessary renovations and restorations, has operated as a bed & breakfast for several years.
The inn has three large guest rooms, each with a private bath. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and dotted with old growth trees. Tennis and basketball courts sit on the property for guests to enjoy.
The 1810 Pickering House is just minutes from New Hampshire's beaches, Great Bay and other seacoast attractions. Historic downtown Portsmouth has much to see, including tours of Strawberry Banke museum homes and a fantastic selection of restaurants and shops. Pickering House offers golf packages to beautiful Portsmouth Country Club, a seaside links course designed by Robert Trent Jones.
